A growing interest from China in Australian wine is being linked with a rising number of tourists.
Austrade says wine sales to China increased by 8 per cent last year, coinciding with more than 300,000 Chinese tourists visiting Australia.
Austrade's senior trade commissioner in Shanghai, Christopher Wright, says many of those tourists have visited Australia's well-known wine regions, including the Barossa and Clare Valleys in South Australia.
He says Australian wine is becoming a drink of choice in China.
