Officials say three women accused of being witches have been killed in East Timor before their bodies were burned along with their house in East Timor.
The three women, aged 70, 50 and about 25, were killed on Saturday evening in Liquica, about 40 kilometres west of the capital, Dili.
Police say they have not identified the culprits.
United Nations police are also investigating the murders.
There were spates of arson attacks during unrest last year but this is believed to be the first such case involving witchcraft accusations in the overwhelmingly Roman Catholic country.
